Tech, Finance and the Yariverse.

And the Yariverse has officially launched

Hey there. If we haven’t officially met yet, I’m Yari, a Columbia grad Master of Science Student and my university has been infamously in the headlines lately. Before you assume I’m some Nepo baby, let me assure you my family has never donated a building. A Lego house to a Secret Santa? Sure, but never actual real estate.

Welcome to my side of the universe, where tech and finance spill over rooftop drinks, late night jokes and one ridiculously overhyped sandwich. This universe was forged from the fires of anxiety, chaos, and an exam so brutal no one smiled for 4 days after taking it. R code humbled us, but that’s a story for another day.

The Yariverse is part comedy, part a networking experiment gone oddly public. Expect guests who are students, alumni, and NYC people worth getting to know. Meet some super impressive people that I’ve gotten to call my friends.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Podcast
    • Tangents (lots of them) from me and guests you should get to know more about.
  • Blog
    • In the monthly uploads I’ll mix data analysis across finance, tech, and psychology currently shaping the world and how it’s not as difficult as your local finance bro tries to make it.

Catch me running around New York both literally (I’m a runner, so keep up) and figuratively (cramming, sipping, and laughing, all in the same hour). Some call it multitasking, I call it collective smart chaos, my university calls it grad school.

So, if you need background banter while studying or just want to hear some Ivy Leaguers trying to be funny, you’re in the right place. I have been told I can be quite funny and Columbia has pushed me into becoming more extroverted.

One rule only, please don’t come at me with bad matcha recommendations. It’s the last thing I can safely consume and if you ruin it, we simply can’t be friends.

Welcome to the chaotic life of a Columbia Grad Student.

Sit down, grab a drink and join me across the Yariverse.
